Dear Members,
I would like to give you an update on the association meeting this past Saturday.
First, I would like to thank everyone for their participation with the Duck Race after the meeting. With the purchase of the ducks, apparel, duck cookies, hot dogs, new membership, 50/50 and donations we made over
$1,000.00. I will have to ask our Treasurer, Toni for the exact amount but we had fun and we were able to add to our
association fund. A special thanks to Tom & Jen Neave for hosting the lunch after to race.
Winners of the Duck Race were:
1 st Place – Julien – Linda & Bill Barzee’s grandson
2 nd Place – Dominic – Gary & Tina Knutti’s grandson
3 rd Place – Verne & Karen Nellis
I asked if the association could purchase a winch for the use of pulling trees and large branches out of the lake. As I was begging again, Dave & Linda Howe stepped forward and donated a winch. George Stowers has offered the use of a battery to run the winch. Thank-you to both families.
The dam is in good shape with the help of two work parties.
Tom Neave has updated our website, pay pal for donations, and paying annual membership due will be up and running
this week. Tom will also develop a new Facebook page for Kasoag Lake over the next few weeks.
We received a very special thank email from Doug & Pauline Mules for the Thank-you card and gift certificates. Doug has mowed the grass around our bulletin board for years. I told him the thought the Kasoag Lake mower fairy has been doing it all this time.
The Golf Tournament is scheduled for September 26th. Registration begins at 8 am at Geenview Country Club in West Monroe. If you would like to play please contact Tom Neave or Andy Armstrong. The deadline to sign-up is 9/20/2020. More details will follow as the planning progresses.
Please draw up your ideas for the 2021 T-shirt contest. Voting will be at the September meeting.
The Annual George Henry Fishing Derby is this coming Sunday, August 16th. Registration starts a 7:00 am at Kasoag Lake
Grill & Bar. This is the 13th year of the fishing derby; it has always been a fun event for kids and adults. If you would like to donate a prize for the participants please drop them off to Denise Hartmann or at my camp.
Could I ask for a small work party Saturday at 11:00 am to help put in the mat on a large mass of Fanwort in Second lake?
Please email me if would be available.
Our last meeting of the year will be September 12, 2020, @10:00 am. As crazy as our world has been this year, I have enjoyed my time with you all and our association events. You are an amazing group of people, thank-you…
Sincerely,
Mary Augustus, President
