- Lynne has been appointed to the Town Board; Lynne resigned her position and Bob Tompson will take her place on the KLAPGCD advisory board along with existing advisory board members Kelly Merrill and Bill Murray.
- The town is aware of Lynne’s role on the KLCA
2025 Herbicide Application
- Completed on June 25
- Total cost: $13,000
- Observations:
- Pondweed – native and appears to be becoming more prevalent
- Long, stringy weed with sparse leaves
- Is it ok to rake?
- Yes, fine to rake and pull
- Herbicide takes 7-21 days to see results
- When raking/pulling, gather and remove as much material as possible
- Pondweed – native and appears to be becoming more prevalent
Grant
- Previous grant process complete
- Final reimbursement of $6,003 received
- Final report to DEC accepted
Pine Grove Dr Improvements
- The Town put stone in the water to prepare a base for the stairs
- They ‘re getting bids on the stairs, which will have a heavy tread to prevent slipping.
2026 Lake Treatment
- First estimate in for ProcellaCOR – $43,000
- ProcellaCOR recap:
- Milfoil-specific
- The lakes that have used it have seen results lasting up to 3 years
- Can we spot-treat?
- Yes, but there are other options
- Seeking grant opportunities
- May not be feasible without a grant
- ProcellaCOR recap:
- Drawdown
- If anyone is interested in participating in a committee to evaluate the draw down, let Lynne know.
- At least 3 feet must be removed
- Need flow rate for dam to evaluate draw down
- The town has implied that they would consider managing the drawdown since they own the dam.
- Either removing boards at the dam, or more likely, syphoning
- Drawdown is specifically effective for Milfoil and Fanwort; not necessarily effective for annual weeds (Water Chestnuts)
- DMR has indicated they will agree to whatever is good for Kasoag Lake
- Hypothetical – a drawdown could potentially reduce the Millfoil and Fanwort to an extent that could reduce the cost of ProcellaCOR
- Wetlands permit – Lynne has reached out to the DEC to start the permit process for next year.
- Need to have full discussion in September about next year’s plans, should know by then if a grant is available; will likely need to have a Plan A and B.
Krigbaum Road Repaving
- Town will be repaving the entire road – both lanes – on Thursday, July 17
- Residents of the road are recommended to stay home that day, wait to come up to camp until Friday

- Town is somewhat “over it”; Nick hopes to find some grant opportunities
- Hold-up was in DEC permitting
ROUNDTABLE
