Our lake treatment is scheduled for the morning of Monday, July 13.
The attached notification has been posted at public access sites and on our KLCA bulletin boards. As a reminder, there are no restrictions on drinking water, swimming, and fishing during or after treatment other than in the immediate vicinity of the applicator boat.
Do not use lake water for irrigation until 6 days after treatment (July 19). This includes watering gardens, crops, landscape plants, greenhouse or nursery plants, and livestock.
Please pause all shore maintenance through July 27. Pulling weeds or clearing around docks can break off live plant fragments that can re-root in the lake, reducing the treatment’s effectiveness. Two full weeks after treatment is needed for the herbicide to do its job before any aquatic plants are disturbed.
